About Brookhaven

Brookhaven is an unincorporated community located on the western edge of DeKalb County, adjoining Sandy Springs and Buckhead. Brookhaven is west of Chamblee, north of Buford Highway and south of I-285. While Brookhaven is bisected by Peachtree Road, the historic part of the community is located north of the road. Brookhaven is home to two golf courses, the Capital City Club and Peachtree Golf Club. In fact, in the 1980s, the area was placed on the National Register of Historic Places as the first planned golf club community in GA.

Brookhaven Public schools are part of Dekalb County and include Dresden, Montgomery, Woodward and Ashford Park elementary schools. Middle school students may attend Sequoyah and Chamblee, while local high schools include Chamblee and Cross Keys high schools. A number of private and faith based schools are also available, such as Marist School. The prestigious Oglethorpe University, whose campus is on the national register of historic places,  provides nearby higher education. A satellite campus for Georgia State University is also located in Brookhaven.

Brookhaven also offers a number of local parks where residents can enjoy a day outdoors or play a few games of basketball or tennis. If you want to take a hike along a nature path, Brookhaven Park and Blackburn Park have several trails that are perfect for taking a stroll. For swimming and boating, Murphy Chandler Park features a pool and lake, in addition to fields for football and baseball.

Brookhaven features large, elegant Tudor, Colonial, Georgian and English cottage homes in a lush landscape of broad, winding streets, densely wooded hollows and gently rolling hills with the Capital City Country Club as its heart. Several residential neighborhoods make up the community of Brookhaven, each offering their own unique amenities and real estate. These neighborhoods include Ashford Park, which is located just east of Historic Brookhaven; Brittany, a swim and tennis subdivision; Brookhaven Fields; Brookhaven Heights; Cambridge Park; Drew Valley; Hillsdale; Pine Hills; and TOWN Brookhaven, which is a mixed-use development that is currently under construction. Brookhaven is primarily made up of single-family detached homes and prices start from $115,000 and can reach well over $2 million for grand estates with ample acreage.

Peachtree Road and Peachtree-Dunwoody roads provide easy transportation access, as does the Brookhaven MARTA rail station. Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza offer luxurious shopping less than a mile away.
